Wow. I am really blown away with the Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset. These make my games (and music) sound incredible! I am hearing things that I've never heard before! The THX TruStudio Pro is top notch, with rich highs, and deep bass, and everything in between. Really really nice, to my ears.

I plugged these into my PC, and while they worked great 'out of the box,' downloading the software from the Creative website gave me access to all the bells and whistles, like an equalizer, voice changer, volume controls, and fine tune tweaking sliders for the best sound ever. The software also gives you control over the pulsing blue ear cup lights. I turned this feature off to extend battery life, since while wearing the headset I couldn't see the cool pulsing effect anyway.
The Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega is constructed with a steel core headband. This makes them very durable, but it also make them fit fairly snug on an average size head. I found a bit of 'gentle bending' before I put them on makes them a lot more comfortable to wear. Over an extended game session, you may need to re-apply the 'gentle bending' a couple of times, whenever they start to get tight.
The headset has 'over the ear' ear cups, so you are completely immersed in the sounds coming from your game (or music). The ear cushions are a really soft 'buttery' leather-like material--very comfortable. There is also a padded pillow on the inside top of the headband for added comfort. The left ear cup sports the volume controls (UP and DOWN buttons) and the POWER button right underneath. I would personally like to see the POWER button moved, because when wearing the headset and fiddling for the volume, it's easy to hit by mistake. It won't turn the headset off by accident (you need to hold the button in a few seconds to turn it on and off) but it will make you wonder why your volume is not responding.
The mic boom is also located on the left ear cup. This is noise-canceling mic, which is also detachable, should you want to use the headset for listening to music only. I have the mic set to 50%, and my guildies in Vent say it's just perfect.
There is no hiss from the wireless at all, as there sometimes can be in some cheaper wireless headsets (I've owned those!). It's just crystal clear audio all the way, whether you are gaming or listening to music. I moved around my 2200 sq ft house to test the range, and found I could walk into every room without losing the wireless signal. Impressive! Next I went outside, and I got all the way out to my mailbox by the road (some 75+ feet from my PC, through walls) before it started to sputter. Even then, when I stood still, the signal was immediately picked up again and just as strong and clear as when I sit at my computer. I could easily sit out on my porch with these, listening to iTunes on my PC.
I'm not sure of the battery life, because I haven't run out yet, but a 4-hour game session did not deplete it. Also, I just keep the headset plugged in and charging whenever I am not using them. If you download the software, your battery status is shown there, on the bottom right of the screen as a 'battery' symbol.
SETUP:
-------
The Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset can be used on either PC, MAC, Playstation 3, or XBOX 360. However, the setup for each varies. Here's a quick rundown that you might find helpful, or help you decide:
FOR PC:
(Note: I don't own a MAC, but looking at the instructions, it's a similar setup).
This is by far, the easiest setup. The Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega ships with four cables. Two USB cables (long and short), a RCA audio piggyback cable, and a flat cable with an inline control specifically for X360 use. For PC, all you need are the two USB cables. The long one goes from the wireless receiver/stand to your PC, and the short one goes from the wireless receiver/stand to the headset for charging. Note: you only need to plug in the short one when you want to charge the headset. Set your PC default sound to "Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega" and you're done.
About the only negative thing I can say about first time setup is that you have to charge the headset for 8 hours before first use. 8 hours! Okay, that's not really a neg, just my impatience, but be prepared to wait a good while until you can use the Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega for the first time. :-) As mentioned before, it works fine just plugged in 'out of the box,' but do yourself a favor and download the software. There is no CD included in the box; you have to download it.
FOR PS3:
Use the USB cables the same way as you would with the PC Setup (above), but now you also need to use the RCA audio piggyback cable (supplied) too. This runs from the headset wireless receiver/stand into the back of your TV's RCA audio jacks, left and right. Next run another RCA audio cable (not supplied, but you can use the audio part of your console's composite cable for this, even if you are using HDMI) from your PS3, and plug the left and right into the piggyback on the first cable you attached to the TV. The last step is setting your PS3's audio input and output on the XMB to the "Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega."
FOR XBOX 360:
This is the most annoying setup, although I believe this is a limitation of the XBOX rather than the Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega headset. Once your plug in your USB cables and run your RCA piggyback audio the same as on the PS3 setup, you then have to connect cable 4 from the headset to your wireless controller. That's right, you're tethered to the controller. You're not really 'wireless' anymore than you are with the cheap Microsoft headset that comes with the XBOX 360. Finally, adjust your audio settings on your XBOX to "Play Through Headset."
CONCLUSIONS:

With the extra cables you have to run for console setups, it's not likely you're going to want to move the Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega from PC to PS3/XBOX and back again on a regular basis, unless you intend a really LONG gaming session on one! I plan on leaving mine hooked to my PC 99% of the time, but it is nice to have the option to move to a console if I want to do so.
Without exception, this is the finest headset I have ever had the opportunity to use. Not being tethered to my desk, but still be 'in the game' even when I am AFK is absolutely wonderful. I really love the Creative Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset, and recommend it to all gamers, as well as non-gamers who just want the freedom of a great-sounding, quality wireless headset for listening to music on their PC. Some may quibble at the price, but I think it's not that expensive when you consider that a top quality WIRED headset is almost as much. Go wireless, you won't regret it!

These are some of the most comfortable best sounding earphones I have ever used. I could and have left them on for hours. Hooked up to a PC the music and effects are down right spectacular. They look really cool too (see my pics.) The sound in terms of highs and lows are as good as my Shures. Its rechargeble so that could be a plus for some people...
But for a console owner almost all of the pros are canceled out by some really glaring ommisions. First of all the batteries arent replacable, so unlike my Ear Force PX5 Programmable Wireless 7.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound Headset with Bluetoothif the batteries run out, I got to plug em in. (Instead of just swapping out the batteries and continuing on.) There is no way to get surround sound from your console or home theater since you can only use the included rca jacks. There is no bluetooth support for PS3 Chat.
All of this becomes mute for a PC. You can plug them in if they run out of batteries, since your (in theory) close to your computer. You can detach the mic if you want to just jam out to tunes. The mic works. The THX is amazing. They are comfortable and have great range. I think they should take off the ps3 and xbox compatability stickers and market these strictly to PC's and everyone would win. Ive included pics above.
