I was able to use this cable for Polycom phone as well. Polycom phones use different wiring, but by connecting microphone jack to green connector and headphone jack to pink connector (which is reverse from how it is labeled) it was possible to use this cable on Polycom.

This item works great with my Cisco IP phone. Please note that the first unit sent to me was defective -- no sound in the headphones. When I reported that to Amazon, I was contacted by the manufacturer (not Amazon) who sent me a replacement immediately. The replacement works fine. (Thanks, Marie!)
Please note that if you have a Cisco phone, you MUST order the Cisco Headset Buddy, and if you have a regular office phone (i.e. not an IP phone) you MUST order the regular office phone Headset Buddy. The device only works on the corresponding phone, even though the RJ9 adapter fits either.
